Saving energy

The most sustainable electricity is electricity that is not even consumed. Thanks to the latest technologies, such as insulated bowls or intelligently controlled compressors, our top models use up to 66% less electricity than their predecessors. With current tensions on the energy market and rising electricity prices, it can mean savings of a few hundred euros at the end of the year.

Ambient temperature: 20 °C, 12 hours day mode (freezing mode),
12 hours night mode (cooling mode), price for electricity: 40 cent per kWh

Packaging regulations

VerpackG

Since 01.01.2019, the new packaging regulation (VerpackG) applies in Germany. All prices for service packaging include the registration to a recycling system according to § 7 Abs. 2 VerpackG (in Germany only).

Reusable packaging regulation

Since 01.01.2023, it is mandatory in Germany to offer reusable alternatives to single-use plastic packaging and drink cups (VerpackG §33 ff). The reusable alternative cannot be offered for a higher price or poorer conditions and must be clearly visible in the point of sales. Small businesses under 80 square meters and up to five employees are not concerned.

SUPD regulation

Since July 2021, some products made of plastic, like spoons or straws, have also been banned across the European Union. Some other products such as cups made of plastic or paper cups coated with plastic must be labeled (SUPD labeling regulation).

Switching the refrigerant to propane

The refrigerant R404a has been replaced in production by the eco-friendly refrigerant propane (R290). As a natural gas, propane is not only a technical equivalent, but also has a much lower greenhouse potential of only 3 GWP (global warming potential), a favorable CO2 balance with a factor of 1.300:1. Almost all of our machine models are now equipped with propane.

Sustainability in the Out of Home market

In food service, topics such as environmental protection, animal welfare and energy efficiency are important points for being future oriented and sustainable. Sustainability is not a trend, it is an attitude that spreads across the industry and creates new awareness and innovative solutions.

With our slush raw materials, frozen milkshake and soft serve ice cream powders, we were sustainable before this topic was on everyone's lips. Concentrates mean e.g. less packaging waste because the finished product is mixed on site with water or milk.
